The Price Brothers Thoughts from James S. Clift
What we do best gets buried every day. While out of sight, it does not go unnoticed by our customers. But what we do best is more than just making concrete pressure pipe that at least 50 million Americans rely on every day for drinking water, or as part of the process that generates electricity for 40% of our homes and businesses. We are an engineering company that happens to make pipe, some of it up to 14 feet in diameter, weighing up to 100 tons. Each piece of pipe, outlet and fitting is specifically designed and manufactured to meet the project requirements. Since 1943, when our company developed prestressed concrete cylinder pipe, we have made over 2 million pieces of pipe. To our knowledge, it is all in operation today providing reliable service for our customers. We are a company known for service, quality and performance. We have been doing business with many of the same customers for over 50 years. The company is owned by its employees. Ownership, along with the responsibility of providing the piping products that are the backbone of the nation's infrastructure, drive our culture of attention to every detail and solving our customers' problems. Recently we have expanded our products and services by offering a second style of concrete pressure pipe (bar wrapped pipe made to AWWA Standard C303) and fabricated steel and stainless steel pipe for treatment plants and industrial applications. These products also include our meticulous attention to detail and conservative engineering. Over 40 years ago, Harry Price, the founder of our company, wrote a book titled, "Build for Tomorrow." Today our company continues to build the big pipelines that will serve the nation not just for tomorrow, but for many decades to come. The pipe is buried, out of sight, but works silently and tirelessly as we all go about our daily lives. |
