Adapters are also used to reverse the laying direction (Price Bell x Price Bell adapters), to install closures (Price Spigot x Price Spigot adapters), or to make minor grade or alignment changes beyond normal joint deflection when unmarked utilities or other obstacles are encountered (bevel adapters).
